Major Annual Festivals

  • Norwegian Country Christmas Tour: Clifton's premier annual event; first Saturday of December. A city-wide celebration of Scandinavian heritage featuring: self-guided historic home/church tour, lighted Christmas parade (Friday evening at 6:30 PM), Heritage Village arts/crafts/food market at City Park Armory, authentic Norwegian luncheon at the Civic Center, and Bosque Museum Christmas Open House.

  • FallFest: One-day festival in historic downtown Clifton, 10 AM–5 PM. Live music, arts and crafts demos, cornhole tournament, car show, food vendors.

  • Clifton Rodeo: A UPRA/CPRA-sanctioned rodeo; over 70 years of tradition. Held at the Clifton Rodeo Grounds, early June. Barrel racing, bull riding, mutton busting, 4-H/FFA calf scramble. Carnival Thu–Sat.

    • 2025: June 6–7, 2025 (74th Annual) — performances at 7:30 PM
    • 2026: June 5–6, 2026 (75th Annual — milestone year) — $8,000 added money

Arts & Culture Events

  • Bosque Arts Classic: An international juried representational art show and sale at the Bosque Arts Center. Attracts artists from across the country.

  • Texas Troubadour Songwriter Classic: A nationally recognized songwriting competition hosted by the Bosque Arts Center, celebrating the craft of songwriting.

Sporting & Community Events

  • Bosque Tour de Norway (Cycling): Multi-distance cycling event through the scenic hills of Bosque County; start/finish at Clifton High School. Five distances: 18, 30, 39, 47, and 69 miles. (Note: cancelled in 2024 due to flooding/TXDOT road damage; returned May 2025.)

    • 2025: Saturday, May 17, 2025 (13th Annual — returned after 2-year hiatus)
    • 2026: Saturday, May 16, 2026 (14th Annual — registration open at BikeReg)
