Dining near Dean Highland, Waco¶
Dean Highland is a primarily residential neighborhood with no restaurants within its own boundaries. Residents are a short drive from downtown Waco and the Bosque Boulevard corridor, both of which offer a wide range of dining options.

Castillo Sr. opened the Aztec Cafe in downtown Waco in the 1930s; La Fiesta itself opened in 1963. Note: The N. 19th St and Hewitt Dr locations have closed — the Franklin Ave location is the only remaining open location.

- Notes: Popular for fresh Vietnamese food including pho, rice bowls, bubble tea, and Vietnamese coffee. Suffered severe water damage from a burst pipe in January 2023 and temporarily closed; successfully reopened after a community fundraiser with a remodeled interior. Confirmed open through December 2025.
