Hillsboro has a vibrant and packed event calendar, with festivals and community gatherings scheduled throughout the year. The city's historic downtown and courthouse square are central locations for many of these celebrations.

Major Annual Festivals

  • Churrofest — Hillsboro's signature May downtown festival at Courthouse Square. 100+ vendors, Fun Zone, Margarita Walk, and evening concerts.

    • 2025: Saturday, May 17, 2025 (10:30 AM–10 PM). Headliner: Paul Wall (9 PM); also Jerry Deleon & Southbound, Tercera Alianza, Hillsboro Worship.

  • Autumnfest — October downtown festival at Courthouse Square. Vendors, arts, and evening concerts.

  • Bond's Alley Art Festival — Annual juried art festival in June at Bond's Alley, Downtown Hillsboro.

    • 2025: Saturday, June 14, 2025 (60th anniversary; featured artist George Boutwell; 9 AM–2 PM)

  • Antique Alley Texas & Yard Sale — A massive 40-mile antique/vendor trail; Hillsboro became an official stop in 2025. Held the 3rd Friday weekend of April and September. 9 AM–6 PM.

Seasonal & Holiday Events

  • Christmas Under the Stars — Lighted Christmas parade + official courthouse tree lighting.

    • 2025: Saturday, December 6, 2025, parade at 6:30 PM. Carnival Dec 5–7. Rogers Farm Christmas Light Show runs nightly Nov 21–Jan 4 at 1554 FM 309 (free, drive-through, synced to 98.1 FM).

  • 4th of July Late Bloomers Parade — Patriotic parade in the Historic Residential District at 10 AM.

  • Oktoberfest — Fall celebration; 2025: October 18, 2025 at The Yard concert series.

Community & Sporting Events

  • Hillsboro Farmers Market — West side of Hill County Courthouse Square; every Saturday, May–October, 8 AM–1 PM. Local produce, peaches, watermelons, grass-fed beef, honey, cheese, baked goods, artisan items (~15 vendors). SNAP EBT accepted + Double Up Food Bucks matching.

  • Free Outdoor Summer Concert Series at The Yard (New 2025) — Saturday nights 8–11 PM at 107 E Elm St (Downtown), May/June and September/October. 2025 lineup included Ghosts of Hill County, Tejas Brothers, Brazos Brothers, Sundae Drivers, and others. Free admission; returning for 2026.

  • Hill College Rodeo — Annual rodeo held in April featuring college rodeo athletes.

  • Hill County Fair and Livestock Show — Classic county fair (running since 1913) featuring youth livestock exhibitions and 4-H/FFA competitions.

    • 2026: January 11–17, 2026 at Hill County Fairgrounds, 205 Stadium Drive.
