Hill College¶
Hill College (hillcollege.edu) is a public community college — the first municipal junior college chartered in Texas (1923). Its main campus is in Hillsboro; additional centers serve Cleburne and other surrounding areas.
Major 2025–2026 Highlights: - IMLS National Medal (February 2026): The Texas Heritage Museum at Hill College received the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) National Medal — the highest honor for museums and libraries in the United States. First community college in the nation (of ~1,500) to ever receive this award; first academic museum in Texas. - Largest Commencement in History (May 2025): Over 340 students walked at graduation — held at Cleburne High School Gym due to size. - New Programs: Hill College–FSL Truck Driving Academy (partnership with Frontier Support Logistics); LVN program celebrated 50th anniversary; Cybersecurity AAS is NSA-recognized. - President Dr. Thomas Mills received the Phi Theta Kappa Paragon Award (April 2025) for outstanding new two-year college presidents.
